WE WON’T STOP UNTIL WE WIN THE CONTRACT WE DESERVE: Sharp Healthcare has made hundreds of millions since the pandemic while neglecting their responsibility to our patients and our coworkers. We have been bargaining for months and management has still not addressed the issues that matter most to us. They have broken the law trying to divide us and delayed much needed improvements in order to maintain the status quo that leaves us chronically understaffed, overworked, and underpaid. We seek to give our patients the best possible care, but there simply aren’t enough healthcare workers to properly care for our patients due to the low pay and poor working conditions we have experienced at Sharp for years. These conditions have made it impossible to attract and retain the staff we need to care for our patients, and we cannot stand by and allow this to continue. We’re calling on Sharp to stop breaking the law and to bargain in good faith now. It’s time to put safe working conditions and staffing first with our essential bargaining priorities: 1. One union under one contract: We believe our strength is in our unity as healthcare workers with common experiences and struggles. We are demanding that all Sharp Healthcare employees be under one collective bargaining agreement. 2. Life changing pay increases: Annual, across-the-board (ATB) pay increases, as well as standardized wage scales that keep up with inflation and the cost of living, while rewarding our seniority. 3. Employer-paid family healthcare for all workers: Employer-paid health coverage for all employees (full-time and part-time) so that those who care for patients are also ensured care for themselves and their loved ones at home. 4. Improved retirement security: Improved retirement benefits are necessary for all Sharp employees to attract new caregivers and provide a secure future after employment for healthcare workers who sacrificed through the pandemic. We are prepared to do what it takes to improve working conditions and patient care at our hospitals. We call on management to join us at the bargaining table in good faith to settle a contract now that gives our patients the care and attention they deserve.
